Other than a PMS reliever, I actually got a lot of benefits from my Malunggay/Moringa experience. So today, I just want to share with you how I made my Honey-Moringa Smoothies.
You’ll need:
1 cup (100 g) of Malunggay leaves, raw
3 cups of water
3-4 tbsp. Pure Honey
Blender
Preparation:
Wash the leaves thoroughly through running water. Pick out and separate the leaves from the stem. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil then put in the Malunggay leaves for 1 minute. Remove from heat, strain the leaves and set aside. Let the water cool for a few minutes, enough to put it in the blender. Once the water has cooled down, put it in the blender together with the leaves. Add honey and blend until smooth.
You can either drink it at once or if you prefer in chilled, place in the fridge for 20 minutes+. This makes 2 glasses of serving, a perfect daily dose of one in the morning and the other before dinner.
The color can be misleading, I know. At first you may think it’s going to be a bitter toss down the throat, but believe it’s not, especially with the help of honey to soften its flavor. My 3-year-old kid can attest to its not-so-bitter taste as I let him try a spoonful on a condition of letting him spit it out if it did taste bitter. I was surprised when he gave me a thumbs-up after an honest gulp (although I bet he wouldn’t fancy more than a spoonful, hehe). I myself enjoyed it, too.
So there you have it, another healthy and fairly-tolerable beverage for veggie lovers out there.
